Coalition Executive Director Dave Machado speaks to RTO leaders at the Coalition’s lunch yesterday, September 23.
We were so pleased to spend time yesterday with charter leaders currently in the 2026-27 Ready to Open (RTO) process! The Coalition provided lunch as leaders took a break from RTO training underway at the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) in Raleigh.
During the lunch, Coalition Executive Director Dave Machado shared an introduction to the Coalition as well as an overview of the ways in which we work to protect and promote public charter schools in North Carolina.
The former director of the Office of Charter Schools (OCS) at DPI as well as a longtime charter school administrator, Dave also outlined ways the Coalition can help new charter schools as they prepare to launch.
