The Charter Schools Review Board yesterday honored 10 high school students who received scholarships from the North Carolina State Employees’ Credit Union. Nine of the students attend N.C. public charter schools while one attends a public regional school.
The NC SECU “People Helping People” Scholarships are based primarily on students’ character and community service. According to NC SECU, scholarship winners must demonstrate “leadership, excellence of character, integrity, and community involvement,” among other things.
Each recipient wins a $10,000 scholarship that will go towards tuition at a public state university. View the 2025 scholarship flyer.
