We want to congratulate charter leader Alex Quigley, newly named a “Platinum Leader in the Field” based on his innovative work with students in the charter sector. Quigley, the executive director of Durham Charter School (DCS) and a member of the state’s Charter Schools Review Board, hosted almost 50 leaders last week for a “Platinum Inspection,” according to DCS, and received the “Platinum Leader” award from Paul Bambrick-Santoyo. Mr. Bambrick-Santoyo is the founder of the Leverage Leadership Institute.
Here’s the announcement about the award from Dr. Melissa Altemose, chief administrative officer (CAO) at DCS:
It is with great pleasure that I get to share that our fearless leader, AQ [Alex Quigley] has been named a Platinum Leader in the Field — aka Durham Charter School is achieving trajectory changing academic outcomes for students through the use of Leverage Leadership strategies.
When presenting this award, Paul Bambrick-Santoyo said they have this award so that “if someone asked if there is an exemplar school in the country where we could see the leadership levers in action, they could have a list of schools doing it really well”–and Durham Charter is now officially on that list! Of the 200+ people who have completed the Leverage Leadership Institute … only 8 leaders have achieved the status of “Platinum Leader in the Field.”
This acknowledgement from the Leverage Leadership team is a testament to Quigley’s leadership, as well as a testament to the hunger, drive, and passion of this team. The data shows the schools that use these leadership tools are consistently outperforming other schools and creating incredible outcomes for students. Our team is hungry to achieve these outcomes for students because you have embraced this vision of always driving for more through coaching and feedback.
Thank you all for your hard work and I hope you join me in giving a HUGE congratulations to Quigley!
