The Coalition is delighted to welcome Mountain Island Charter School (MICS) as our newest member school. MICS is a K-12 charter school located in Mount Holly, in Gaston County.
We know how critical a charter school’s mission is to its overall success and operations, so we share the mission for MICS below:
Mountain Island Charter School offers a traditional curriculum while instilling character values and leadership development within a positive, challenging learning environment. Students, teachers, staff, and parents will be encouraged to lead by example through their positive impact on and service to each other, their school, and their community. We endeavor to promote and foster excellence, wisdom, integrity, and perseverance within our students to enable them to be successful in today’s complex and diverse society.
Clearly, MICS is excelling in the classroom and in educational leadership. The school is home to both the 2025 Charter School Teacher of the Year Lindsay Phillips and the 2025 Charter School Principal of the Year Jake Wilson. Amazing!
Go Raptors! We’re so pleased to have Mountain Island Charter School join the Coalition.
