N.C. Rep. James Roberson (D-Wake) yesterday visited Cardinal Charter Academy at Wendell Falls to read to students. The visit took place as part of Read Across America, an annual initiative from the National Education Association that highlights the power of books and reading every March.
Here’s the write-up of the visit from Cardinal Charter’s Facebook page:
What a fantastic start to Read Across America Week! Our K-4 communities had the privilege of welcoming guest readers who shared their favorite books, creating a truly special experience for our students. There’s something magical about adults passing down beloved childhood stories, sparking joy and inspiration in young readers. A heartfelt THANK YOU to Representative James Roberson and Wendell Mayor Virginia Gray for making this day even more memorable! #strongmindsgoodhearts #CSUSAproud
We were so pleased to host Rep. Roberson as a speaker at our 2025 Charter Advocacy Summit! During the Summit, we reinforced the importance of inviting lawmakers to charter schools for visits. Kudos to Cardinal Charter for this visit–and we encourage other charter schools to invite their representatives as well.
